I love the idea of Diablo 2-style customised henchmen! I loved my Rogues so much <3

I hope these customizable heroes can carry stuff, because I need a good pack mule. Better to stay back and carry stuff than run around aggroing everything.
I'm very skeptical, I think this will make it easier for people to solo, but I think henches will never be as good as humans.
Does this mean we can give our guild lord weapons and armor now?

300 skills
Anet has 25 new CORE SKILLS for each class every chapter thats 150, plus 75 NEW skills per new class thats 150 = 300
This means the assasin and the ritualist are NOT getting any new skills

I hope they actually add some decent PvP content this time around, factions was 99% PvE. The only new gametypes were aimed at PvE players, and the only thing the PvP'ers got was a couple of half assed guild halls and arena maps while the PvE players got a whole world with about 50zones, LOADS of new weapon skins, town control and more.
So.. Anet, please give us some real PvP content this time, cut back on the PvE content if you have to, but give us SOMTHING.

What are Alliance Battles all about if not PvP???
PvP's got as much as anyone with Factions, you have to PvP to control the towns and all the new armour and weapons, skills and two new class types can be used by PvP characters too.
Please dont cut back on PvE...that would be disappointing.
As for Nightfall, well it sounds good in theory, but i'll hold judgement until i see it.
The idea of being able to customise your henchies sounds great, but does that mean you'll have to buy their skills, weapons and armour (just like you have to for your character) and use crafting materials for their armour (and so on)??? If so, that is going to be a BIG money sink.
Also, how will the henchie leveling work? Will the game always remember what level you got them to each time you go to a new town, or will it reset every time you log off or change henchies?
I image the orders will work on the basis of 'always attack, only attack if attacked, always defend and do not attack'...the later being great when you try and tame a pet.

• Customizable Heroes (party NPCs) that level up with the player, follow player instructions in combat, and use armor, weapons, and skills of the player’s choice.
LOL. It's gonna take me like 3 hours to decide on what I want for a henchie group with that many variables (my decision making process is uber slow already...).

uh oh...I hope I don't have to buy equipment for my henchies. I have enough trouble outfitting my own characters, lol.

I don't know how i feel about customized henchies and i honestly don't think that it's what folks are idealizing "customized npc" to be. (i.e. customized alesia, devona...) I know they won't be pack mules or shared drop characters.
I don't think the numbers posted for skills are totally accurate either...
Much of the speculation issues most companies are afraid of is that the information isn't complete, people get excited about what they think it should be, only to be disappointed at release. I think everyone should keep in mind that this "release" of info was for sure accidental and pre-official. It's not neccessarely inacurrate as much as it is "not specific enough" to make a complete assesment of a final release. The preliminary release date posted is also JUST THAT, an approximation or educated guess.
I also think since A-net, Gaile et.al. have been slammed for mis-information, lies or w.e. so often, this is even more a sensitive issue that folks don't go adding content to a game thats not even completed yet.

Sounds very promising.. but if I have to pay for Alesia's new armor and Bob's new sword... they better start handing over those drops they've been hiding from me since Prophecies.

Cause they keep deleting it since it's not 'officially confirmed by ANET'
It's a very stupid policy in this case.

yup, that's exactly what i was thinking. the customizable henchman sounds like something from a traditional console rpg. (final fantasy/kingdom hearts, anyone?) where they give you a number of characters to choose from and you select the ones you want to take into battle as your party. the only questionable thing i can see about putting this in guildwars is, like in Final Fantasy for example, since your party functions like a unit, you have to pay to equip EVERY member of your party. i'd hate for them to do this in gw, but i don't see it going any other way.
also, i think this would take away from the multiplayer feeling of the game. (although i henched my way through most of both games anyway )

Looks sweet. Customiseable henchys. Sounds neat, although i'd hate to have to set them up before every mission. To be honest I hope it's for the hero v hero matches only. Pve will be too easy otherwise... and too long to set up skills.
I also hope you don't need to go with henchys to catch elites. Man that would be boring, and I DEFINATELY don't want to have to buy my henchys skills.

yeah - i wonder now how much they will actually let us preview :/
can't see the custimizable henchies in PvP - but maybe one of those new 55 areas and hundreds of skills will be usable XD
the story turns does start to sound a bit like factions - but with Gods?
overall though i don't think i'd be able to control my excitement XD!!! impacience is not cool lol
...this chapter needs to come out now...

i just hope the pve is good and i think it will be more like prophices which will be a nice back and forth break between the two teams. Though i do like the idea that zones might slightly change as we complete certain quests and stuff as the article (while not offical) suggests

personally i dont care at all about the stupid npcs. I like to actually play with people and only use npcs if i have to. But i do like the fact that you can control your own story. I hope you can like join the evil dude and help take over the world or whatever.

I mostly team up with henchies as it is, sounds like I may never join a human party again. It will be interesting just how far you will be able to go with the customisation of Hench. I want a new Titles "Lord of Hench", "Ringmaster", "Party of 5 ". FTW!!!
